Parking on zig-zag road markings
Tue 27 Jan 2026Dear Parents and Carers,
We have received multiple reports of parents parking on the zig-zag road markings outside the school gates during drop-off and pick-up times. We would kindly ask that you do not park or wait on these lines as this causes an obstruction to other motorists and greatly restricts road access for emergency vehicles should they have a need to come through the area.
Our local PCSOs have advised that, for the safety of our local community, they do make regular patrols around the area during school pick-up and drop-off and can issue tickets to those parked on zig-zag lines based on obstruction caused to other motorists and pedestrians.
Please see the following guidance from Wiltshire Police if you would like further information www.wiltshire.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/rs/road-safety/parking-outside-schools/
As a reminder, we do have an agreement in place with Lidl to allow parents and carers to utilise their carpark during pick-up and drop-off times.
As ever, the safety of our community is of the highest importance and we appreciate your help and support with this.
Kind regards,
School Office
