  • Book Look- *th December

Wed 29 Nov 2023 Jade Goldup

On Friday 8th December, we will be hosting a "book look" event, where parents and carers will have the opportunity to drop into their child's class after school. The children have worked really hard in school this term and we would like to showcase their progress and achievements. This event is a fantastic way to celebrate their hard work.

During the book look, you will be able to view your child's work from this term, giving you a deeper understanding of their learning journey. The class teachers will dismiss the children as normal at 3.15pm. Once all children have been dismissed, the classrooms will reopen and you will be welcomed in to come and view your child’s work.

Our reception classes will not be participating in this term's book look event to allow the children more time and space to settle into their new school environment. Rest assured that there will be plenty of opportunities to view their work throughout the rest of the school year.

We look forward to welcoming you on Friday 8th December. If you have any queries relating to this event, please email the relevant key stage leader account. KS1- KS1Phaseleaders@bithambrook.wilts.sch.uk. KS2- KS2Phaseleaders@bithambrook.wilts.sch.uk.

Thank you for your continued support

  • Bitham Brook's 30th birthday celebration

Wed 08 Nov 2023 Jade Goldup

On Friday 24th November, Bitham Brook Primary School will be celebrating our 30th birthday. To commemorate the occasion, we will be holding a day of celebrations within school.

The children will spend the day looking back at the school’s history and exploring how much the school has changed over the past 30 years. The children will be taking part in a number of celebratory activities in their classes and will then present them in assemblies throughout the morning. A selection of the children’s work will then be placed in our 30th birthday time capsule to give future pupils an idea of what it was like to be part of the Bitham Brook community in 2023.

On the day, children will be taking part in a celebration lunch in their classrooms. Please note that we will not be serving school lunches on this day. We would ask that all children bring a packed lunch into school for the celebration. We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents and carers that we are a nut free school and ask that you ensure there are no items containing nuts in your child’s lunch box. If your child is entitled to free school meals, the school will be able to provide a packed lunch for your child to enjoy in their classroom upon request. The packed lunch request form will be released shortly.

In the afternoon the children will enjoy a celebration performance from a local brass band. Prior to our birthday celebration we will be having a whole school photo taken. Parents and carers will have the opportunity to purchase the photo as a memento from the occasion. Details will follow shortly. Please note that only children with photo consent will be able to participate in the school photo.

FOBBS have also released a commemorative portrait T-towel to mark the occasion. Please note the deadline for purchasing the T-towel is Sunday 12th November and they can be purchased via the following link www.sforders.co.uk/bithambrookprimaryschoolteatowels.

Following our celebration, we will be sending a short presentation home for parents and carers to enjoy the experience of the day.

  • Full school Flu immunisations

Wed 01 Nov 2023 Jade Goldup

    Dear Parents and Carers

Please see the below email from HCRG Group (formerly VirginCare) regarding flu immunisations for this year. Please read and carefully and complete the link in order to accept or decline the flu immunisations.

    Many thanks,

    Jade Goldup

    Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your child’s flu vaccination is now due.

This vaccination is recommended to help protect your child against flu. Flu can be an unpleasant illness and can cause serious complications. Vaccinating your child will also help protect more vulnerable family and friends by preventing the spread of flu.

Please complete the consent form using the following link:

    https://schoolimms.hcrgcaregroup.com/flu/2023/wilts

Please ensure you complete your child’s consent 48 working hours before your school session to ensure your child receives their vaccination.

We are visiting your child’s school on Monday 11th December 2023

The vaccination is free and is a quick, simple and painless spray up the nose. Even if your child had the vaccine last year, the type of flu can vary each winter, so it is recommended to have it again this year or they won’t be protected.

A leaflet explaining the vaccination programme for primary aged children can be accessed at:

    https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1165161/UKHSA-12652-protecting-your-child-against-flu-information-for-parents-and-carers.pdf

and includes details about the small number of children for whom the nasal vaccine is not appropriate. The nasal spray vaccine contains a very small amount of purified porcinegelatine as an essential ingredient to keep it stable and able to work. For those who may not accept medicines or vaccines that contain porcine gelatine,a flu vaccine injection is available. Since the programme was introduced, most children offered the vaccine in schools have had the immunisation.
