Bitham Brook Primary School

In a community of kindness where all belong: be positive, be resilient, be creative

Welcome

Welcome!

Bitham Brook Primary School is a vibrant and popular primary school in Westbury, with two-form entry across all year groups.  As Westbury has grown in size, particularly on the east side of town in recent years, Bitham Brook has grown in numbers too.  Our full extension was completed in Spring 2022, providing us with wonderful facilities to support and enrich the educational opportunities for children across the school.   This includes a dance studio and a fully equipped design and technology room, in addition to a large hall for sports and gymnastics, a music and drama room and a beautiful and well-stocked library.

The building development work has enhanced the outside space available to our children here at Bitham Brook too, with a new multi-use games area (MUGA) and plenty of additional playground space being added without taking away any of our existing wonderful field space.  With support from FOBBS, we have recently purchased new outdoor play equipment for all children, which is accessible throughout the year.  We are also really proud of our allotments which are planted and cared for by our children as part of their outdoor learning.

For all the wonderful resources that we are grateful to have, our real riches come from the wonderful pupils and staff that make up our Bitham Brook community.   We believe that every child deserves to have the best opportunities to learn, try new experiences and challenge themselves to be their very best.  It is our pupils who have created our refreshed vision here at Bitham Brook, from characteristics they themselves find most important:

In a community of kindness where all belong: be positive, be resilient, be creative

The safety and well-being of our pupils is paramount, and by providing a culture of good order and discipline we can ensure a good and safe learning environment for our pupils to flourish.  Our teaching sets high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils, which in turn promotes good progress.  Adaptive teaching and the use of carousel groups enables teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils.
